The drive from Ucluelet to Victoria is about 290 km.
We passed Kennedy Lake and both of us had the same idea at the same time: stop!
We then drove on to the east coast of Vancouver Island, to Parksville, with its beautiful beach.
A stop in Nanaimo for coffee with our dear friends there and on to Chemainus, the town, rescued from demise by the ingenious plan to paint murals all over town.
The next stop was Duncan, a city with 80 totem poles, literally scattered all over the place.
On to the Kinsol Trestle. I had heard that this bridge had been restored so of course we had to see this.
It definitely was worth the detour.
On to Victoria to our conveniently downtown located hotel. It had been a long but wonderful day.
